Zone Championships Guidelines

The 2015 ISV Zone Championships will be announed mid-way through the 2015 ISV Superleague season.

2015 Regional Zone Teams

  • Magic (Cranbourne, Frankston, Springvale)

Each zone will field a minimum of 8 Mens & 2 mixed teams and a maximum of 10 players per team. Over 35's have a maximum of 12 players per team.

The Cricket Game

  • 6 balls per over
  • 16 overs per innings
  • 1 new ball per match - except Grand Finals where there will be 1 new ball per innings
  • Last 3 balls of each batting pair to be rebowled at batter's request
  • Game times to be 90 minutes
  • Coin toss to be done by captains at the front counter 10 minutes prior to scheduled start time. Late teams will forfeit the toss
  • On average each team will play 5 games in 3 days
  • Ladder positions – overall points, wins, skins, percentage
  • In finals, if a there is a tie, skins determine winner. If skins are tied, the highest placed team on the ladder will be the winner
  • In Grand Finals the winner will be determined by skins. If skins are tied, a 4 over mini game will be played. Two Overs per pair. The 4 players that didn't bat are the 4 bowlers in the fielding innings, everyone still fields
  • Rules are as per the current Tournament By-Rules, and Cricket Game Rules (April 2011)

  • Zones to encourage same colour pants

The Netball Game

There will be no zones for netball. It will be a City v Country Mixed Challenge. These will be made up of your centre's Superleague or domestic teams.

  • 2 x 12 minute halves
  • Coin toss to be done by captains at the front counter 10 minutes prior to scheduled start time. Late teams will forfeit the toss
  • On average team will play minimum 9 games in 2 days
  • Ladder Points – overall wins then percentage
  • Rules are as per the current Tournament By-Rules, and Netball Game Rules (April 2011)
  • T SHIRT PENALTIES WILL APPLY
  • Zones to encourage same colour skirts/shorts. No shorts allowed, unless the whole team wears shorts
  • The ISV Player Points System will be enforced for the Zone Championships.

Game Fees

  • $480 per team for Vicleague & Ladies Cricket
  • $600 per team for Zones Teams (includes more games)
  • $440 per team for Netball

State Squad Selection

  • State selectors will attend the tournament to select state squad for Opens and Masters Victorian Teams. (Cricket only)
  • All players wishing to be eligible for state team selection must play a minimum of 3 games during the Zones Championships.

Disputes & Complaints

The lines of communication for any disputes, reports or any other information are:

  • If a player has a complaint, they raise this with their captain
  • The captain then sees their team coach
  • The team coach then sees their zone co-ordinator
  • The zone co-ordinator then sees the Tournament Director.
